Treat Holder

Hello Folks and happy Friday to you. Today I have this little treat holder I made using you guessed it...my Silhouette cutter. The stamp set is something new for me. I added some glitz to the butterfly with some crystals and glitter. I'm in a little bit of a crafting funk but hopefully I'll have something better to share soon.

Hot Dog and Little Diva (MMSC3)

Today's card is for Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge MMSC3. Last night while watching a podcast from Scrap Time the demonstrator created a new scallop flower that was a little less involved than the ones I have been previously making. While more this one is more simple I thought it suited this little card well. Onto my page for today. I used my Silhouette for most of the items on this layout. I can't lie but the first page I did for this one was just crappy. So, I revised and it and now I'm happy. Happy Wednesday folks. Until my next post have a great day.

A card and a page

Today's card was based on the sketch from Mojo Monday Week 88. I decided to create this card using scrap paper. We all know how many scrap pieces we can gather from project to project. I used colored pencils and gamsol on both of these projects. I also used my paper crimpers. On my page I had some left over mementos from the trip that I wasn't able to fit on the page. I created a pocket in the top back side of the page and put all the remainding items in there and attached a pull tag to the top so others knew there was more to find, kind of like a hidden treasure. Hope everyone had a great holiday. Until later!

Next is my list of those I'd like to pass this award onto, these are people whose blogs help inspire me they are:

Statue of Liberty Page

In January Jim and I visited New York City and I just now had the pictures printed. So, I'm working on getting a scrapbook completed with all the things we did there and in Niagara Falls. I figure if I can do at least a page or two a day I'll be set. Here's my page for today. The sketch if from Creativescrappers #53 Layout. Until later, Gloria.

Color Inspiration #53

Kristina has posted another Color Challenge. This is her 53rd challenge and I am more than happy to take part of it. The colors for use are: black, red, pacific blue, sun yellow and white. My scallop punch (along with butterflies stamps) has become my best friend and has helped me create a number of these cute flowers. I also decided to post a scrapbook page made with the same colors. I really hope you've enjoyed my submissions for this challenge. Have a great weekend!

Another Butterfly Card.

Well folks, I have yet another butterfly card I've created today. I know, for some reason I just can't get away from all the butterflies. I especially like this card. It's very minimal. I used mineral spirits and colored pencil to color in the flowers. Used a push pin to do some paper piercing for the trail of the butterfly and the butterfly itself was cut out on my Silhouette cutter. Have a great weekend everyone!

Card Club, Theme: Sympathy

Good Morning and happy Friday as well! Last night was another Card Club meeting and our theme for the night was Sympathy. Gloria designed the "Thinking of You" card (top left). Terry designed the "With Sympathy" card (top right) using an bird embossing folder and layered papers. Sue designed the "Thinking of You" card (center). We colored in portions of the image with colored pencils and added brads/ribbon to finish it off. Marilyn designed "With Heartfelt Sympathy"card (bottom left). We added brads and some ribbon to finish off this one. Sue designed "So sorry to hear of your loss" card (bottom right). We used an interesting technique to create the circle on the right side of the card - we used a scallop punch. Everyone did such a great job with their designs. This is an awesome group of ladies. Thanks for another fun night of card making. Until next club meeting when the theme will be: Graduation.

Flower Power

Today's card was complicated for me. I can't tell you how many times I changed the background paper to make it all work together. Using the scallop punch again I created this flower. Added a button to the center this time and did some faux stitching around the sentiment area. Happy Wednesday Everyone. Tomorrow's card club night....Woohoo!

Color Inspiration #52 and Mojo Monday Week 87

Happy Tuesday! Today I'm taking a stab at Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration #52 and Mojo Monday Week 87. Colors for Kristina's challenger were: baja/aqua, saffron, mustard, sand and white. After some playing around I was able to come up with this card. It's a bright and cheery card and who doesn't love butterflies? I had a little bit of trouble working in the sand but, I managed to get in there. Thanks to all of you for taking a moment to see what I've created. Have a great day!

Thank You Swing Card

Here's something new for me, it's a swing card. I used the Cuttlebug to emboss the inner circle image. I used my brayer to roll some ink inside the folder before running through the Cuttlebug to get the effect you see here. Also, I pulled out my two step stamp set for the sentiment in the middle. A Stamp-a-ma-jig is a must have when you have those kinds of stamps.

Great Paper Find!

Today, Jim and I went to Conklin, NY to see what was left of a going out of business sale. DM Business Products is going out of business and getting rid of all that is left of the business. Let me just say they have a number of broken cards of 23"x35" papers (and some 8/12"x11." cartons). We picked up two broken cartons for $20.00. The stocks we bought are Neenah paper; one Classic Crest the other Environment. Retail price listing on their site is $209.00 and $190.00 (for full cartons of course). I'd say the one carton was 2/3 full the other about 1/2. Only problem is your left cutting these large sheets down to the size you wish. Here is the listing we found on Craigslist http://binghamton.craigslist.org/gms/1174943002.html. I must say this much, the gentleman that helped us out was super nice. He like so many of us have lost our jobs, he has been in the printing business since the age of 12 and is watching the business he's worked for so many years be carried away piece by piece. My sincere thoughts go out to each person and family who is dealing with this same situation.

Butterfly Wishes

Happy Friday! Today's card was pretty much cut out on the Silhouette cutter. The butterfly was a two step cut out image. I used a little but of brown ink on the inside wing area to add a little bit more color to the butterfly. Fairly simple today as I'm having a creative block. Have a great weekend.
UPDATE: Since I wasn't too happy with my first butterfly card. I went back and made another. This time I made a blue butterfly.

Paper Punch Flower

Today's card is created using the scallop circle punch. I used a total of 5 scallop punches to create this little flower and then folded in various directions. After folded I attached the eight pieces to a scallop base for support. I goofed up a bit when I was stamping the sentiment and over compensated for it with too much brown ink :( But, I really like the final look of the card and look forward to making this scallop flower again.

Another Day, Another Card

Today's card is done using Inkadoo's Little Cupcake stamp set. I added some dimensional foam under to the Sweet Pea image to give it a little extra height. I also added some glitter to the leaf of the pea. Topped it all off with some yellow ribbon and a pink button.

We Are Family

Hope everyone had a Happy Mother's Day this past weekend. Today I used a sketch posted on Mojo Monday. this is a first for me :) I used an Autumn palette to create my card today. The stamp set is a G Studio set that I found at AC Moore last week. It's just too cute! Have a great week.

Mother's Day Gifts

Here's a fun box I cut out on my Silhouette cutter. I stamped the cut out image with this fun swirly pattern and then covered a piece of chipboard with some patterned card stock. I attached the "d" to the box by using ribbon and brads. Also, made this post-it note holder. It's a cute gift to give out because you can really personalize it however you want. I did all purple today because it's my Mom's favorite and I'm going to pack a small rubber stamp set inside her box as well. Who knows maybe she'll be inspired to stamp (lol..probably not).

Card Club Night

Good Morning! Last night was our bi-weekly card club night. The theme for tonight was "Anything". Sue designed the beautiful pomegranate card "To Someone Special", Marilyn designed the cute frog card "A Special Note of Thanks", Gloria designed the flower pot card "You are Loved", and Terry designed an awesome polka-dotted card "Birthday Hugs and Wishes". This design is very similar to a card she created for the Relay for Life event. Which she made (with some help) 100 cards! Great work and best wishes to all those who are participating in this upcoming event.

I said last night I would post the recipe is used for my Chocolate Eclair Dessert so here it is:
2 - Individual Packs of Graham Crackers
2 - 3 oz. Packages of Instant Vanilla Pudding
3 Cups Milk
1 - 8 oz. Container Cool Whip - Thawed
1 - 16 oz. Tub of Chocolate Frosting
Directions:
Line the bottom of a 9x13 pan with graham crackers. In a large bowl, combine pudding mix and milk. Stir well. Stir in whipped topping into pudding mixture. Spread half the pudding mixture over graham cracker layer. Top with another layer of graham crackers and the then the remaining pudding mixture. Top all with a final layer of graham crackers and frost with chocolate frosting (Pop the frosting in the microwave for about 15-20 seconds...be sure to remove the aluminum cover...this will help it spread over the final layer of graham crackers). Refrigerate overnight.

Sunday Morning Creation

Good Morning. I made this butterfly card this morning. Perhaps I should call this one Purple Power because of all the shades of purple. I used the top note die cut (but fudged slightly, lol) for the main sentiment area. Then cut out a butterfly image using my Silhouette cutter. Using a trick that Sue taught me I used some of tacky strip to apply to just the body of the butterfly. This way the image looked as though it were fluttering it's wings. I then embellished it a little more by applying the jewels to it's antennas.

Having a Ruff Day

Having bought but not yet used this cute little doggie stamp set for months now, I thought I might break open the plastic and create something. Here he is, just waiting to cheer you up with bright orange accents who wouldn't crack a smile getting this one? Overall, it pretty happy with this card. But, am unsure if the orange squares is just too much...what do you think?

Happy Birthday!

I received my new stamp set from Close to My Heart called Confidential. It has lots of little bracket type stamps for you to use to add some different elements to your designs. I used this one to create a cute and simple birthday card.

Mother's Day Pot of Flowers

Mother's Day is just around the corner. I created this one for my Mom, hopefully she doesn't see this post. The key to getting this one right was to: place down your leave accents, then add the larger flowers and then finishing it off with the small flowers. I added some ink to the edges of the flowers so they didn't all get lost in the mass arrangement of yellow-ness.

P.S. - This is the card I'll be making with the ladies on Monday night!!! :)

Cherry Popsicle

I created this little card using the scallop punch in the upper right corner. After I had punched out what was to appear as a bite taken out of the Popsicle I used the scallop punch again to add a little bit of white accent to the bite area. So, it essentially looked like it was a creamsicle. I've created this card in orange as well. I used the Tart n Tangy stamp set from Stampin Up! for the image in the center of the card.

New Addition Card

I created this little diaper card using my Silhouette cutter. I used some blue ink to add some color to the edges of the card so the fine little details of this card didn't get lost with all the white paper. I used a cute little stamp set from G Studio for the stamped images on the card.

Scallop Ice Cream Cone

You scream I scream we all scream for ice cream....the scallop ice cream cone that is. I used the scallop punch to create this cute little card. I added some ink to the edges of the "ice cream" to give it some dimension. Hope you enjoy!
